My old ZJ
« on: July 17, 2014, 03:13:10 PM »

Sold my ZJ to the BIL a year ago when it failed to do as it was told......ie haul my 4 tons of junk and trailer to Breakout.......

Since then it,has been well behaved,....got it through the MOT and had the rusty lower, control arms,replaced,......by me.....

Recently it has started to hunt........up and down at tickover, and at overdrive switch time 52 mph it,will seem a bit Woolley...then Tis all OK......

Is this the TPS syndrome again...... I replaced it a year ago but that's no guarantee it was a good TPS replacement.

Any ideas ZJ officionados???

you can test a TPS if you have a meter

could be the map have you got a scanner that can read real time then you can check readings

If you look on the US forums its reccomended to ALWAYS use factory sensors only, which ever one you need. There are numerous tales of sensors going bad as soon as fitted or shortly after and if your fault finding then a new sensor gone bad can have you going round in circles and getting nowhere.
