size does depend on what rubber he uses and year, original older screens and after market rubbers the glass is a few mm smaller than the hole and sits in line with the flange, on latter models with revised OEM rubbers the glass sits in front of the flange and is a few mm bigger than the hole.
reason for change was usual USA nanny state, someone had a screen push in at high speed so they revised the design.
