Preferred oil(s) for a CJ7?
« on: August 28, 2015, 12:06:43 PM »

Hi Guys.

What is the current thinking on the "best" oils for a standard 258/304 CJ7?
ie.
Engine oil?
Gearbox oil (for a T150)?
Transmission fluid for a Quadratrak?
Brake fluid?
Power steering?

I use classic 20 / 50 in my 360

not sure about the T150, or why you should have one with a quadratrac??

Quadratrac has it's own special fluid, speak to Lighthouse or order from States, called TCL 1 I think.

DOT 3 brake fluid, or DOT 4.

ATF for power steering, same as for the TH400 that should be bolted to your quadratrac..

258 is a 3 speed  Manual
304 is a Quadratrak / TH400 (about which I know very little...)
