What's the best battery for a WG ?
« on: October 09, 2015, 03:51:45 PM »

Looks like my battery has died after the interior lights were left on and drained it.....

Any recommendations as to what brand and spec to replace it with ?

Got a colleague at work who had to do the same, he ended up with a battery that was a slightly lower rating and had all sorts of fun with the electrics, so I want to make sure I get the right one !

I was looking at this one

I know it's not a Jeep, but I use one of these in my 2.8 diesel Nissan Patrol and it is perfect....handles minus 30 degree starts without a murmur and just keeps keeping on.

Into it's 3rd year now.

Highest capacity sealed battery that fits the space. There are rarely any bad batteries now, and certain ones with coloured tops are over rated, pun intended.

I've got a Duracell in my XJ which has been nothing but perfect, whilst the Bosch in the ZJ seems to have survived being fully drained a few times pretty well.

For an extra £20 I treated it to this one in the end with a little more Amp hours and cold cranking amps.
10 minutes to change it and it sprang into life straight away (I was a little worried I'd stick the new battery in and find that it wasn't the problem)
Just got to make sure I don't accidently leave the the interior lights on in future....
