Doods,

Got a 10 pin factory plug lurking behind the rear bumper so I have a requirement for :

Jeep grand cherokee WK (2007) rear hitch 10 pin connector wiring harness

Had a google but looks like the proverbial rocking horse poo.

Can the top ebay-googlers have a look and see if this is available?

Thx.

What if I buy one of these and cut the US trailer socket off and re-wire to a European 7 pin ?

  • lift it, brake it, Fix it brake it, fix it again

that would work but why not just chop of the plug and connect in directly.  :017:

Jay, can you elaborate ?

So there is a male factory plug lurking behind the bumper - where do you go from there ?

I assumed - Factory (or similar) female to trailer board plug female receiver, yes ?

I read somewhere that the original US spec female receiver is not allowed in UK - and also when you use factory connection a hook-up to the dealer confuser is called for to activate tow-package ?

Big ZJ - good call - hadn't thought of that - Doh! :eusa_doh:

if you are going into that plug you will need the relay that goes with it then it will need activating on the system to tell the vehicle it has a towbar, far easier to buy a canbus relay set up from towsure then just wire straight into the lighting.

Looked at mine as pictured

Seems there is no plug behind but it's wired straight into the cars wiring from the factory

Jeep owner for 12 years (see history in signature) but this is first post on here - please be gentle.
Just upgraded to a WK with rear parking sensors and need to fit towbar.  Do I have to buy a detachable?  I have heard that a regular  flange or swan neck towbar will interfere with the sensors.
