Anodising wheels

Hi, anyone know of an outfit in the midlands (or further) who anodise wheels?
I want to anodise my MIckey Thompson alloys; years of polishing the untreated wheels has left me tired! I like the idea of going to a Grizzly grey color.

The 5 33x12.5 BFG M/Ts will be coming off and up for grabs too, details to follow when it happens.

Anodising is not the toughest finish mate, one scratch & its off.

Paint is better as you can touch up whereas powdercoating you cant

I maybe wrong but heh its your truck  :icon_super:

Hard to say with paint or powder coat, I definitely wouldn't anodize them, its very soft. Personally I would go powder coat, I had some motorcycle wheels powder coated and they were great, tough finish that didn't stain with brake dust, even white. But couldn't say with off road wheels.

once powder coat has been damaged it's a slow trip to a wheel strip and repaint.

if they are for offroad only, good old hammerite or enamel spray paint. makes repair easy

Cheers for the advice. Softness isn't what I want.
Durability is no . 1 whilst it's off-roading is limited these days it has to be robust.
I can't stand the prospect of laquer lift.
Anyone know how the discovery series 1 ES spec wheels were finished? they seemed durable.
Whereas the jeep grizzly weren't.

Currently leaving them bright polished seems the most robust and repairable option!

Galvanize a set of steel wheels.
Grey - Yup
Rustproof - Yup
Tough - Yup
Scratch resistant - Not really, but as long as majority of wheel is still coated it still won't corrode.
Overpaintable - Yup
Salt water resistant - Yup

Just a thought!

Eastry; youre not wrong. But visible galvanised steel reminds me too much of S3 Landies. Not a look I want for my TJ.
Forgot to mention; wheels need to look perfect! So no hand painted POR!
And before you shoot me down for that; said truck saw plenty of off-road action in the early days.
