lots been going on with work  garage and general tinkering  currently in the middle of a big job on a big wj  with issues  rather miffed with myself as its taken much longer than expected to get started and due to juggling stuff will now not be finished in time for cheapfest as planned  :icon_redface: i really hate letting folk down but refuse to do a poor job for the want of rushing
due to unexpected problems with the m1008 i have to fix and prep my own junk to be able to do my part in cheapfest

here is a couple of funny things found on rear axle of said wj not sure of history on it

wheel bearings wrong way round both sides

wrongly placed pinion shims

some people are qualified mechanics
some people know nothing about mechanics
some people claim they know about mechanics

actions confirm the above

the point is you can easily rectify the issue, could have been more frustrating if the bearing had collapsed and damaged the shaft in the process

tell you what a good mot station is a bloody good thing to have  yesterday due to the continued high level of harassment from work  i dropped  a wj off for mot after some major work [ jeep has been monkey on my back for a while just trying to get on with it] at 4am due to going to work i then walked to work
as is always the way with my company these days tasks took longer than hoped so missed them closing up  but they rang me told me all was good and it was nice to see so many new parts on a kitted truck put the ticket and keys up for me to collect and to not worry about the  cash pop buy in the week and pay

so after work i walked to the mot place and collected the jeep .......................i think thats bloody good  especially in the cant give a fuck world we seem to have

this also brings to a close possibly the longest regear and other work in history all highly embarrassing but  it is at least a spare play vehicle and they did say no rush on it but i did not mean to take him on his word  :icon_redface:
was meant to go to work today but ................fek it i musta done 60hrs this week

Always good to hear, the WK went to our local commercial place for MOT the other week. Passed and they dropped it back down the folks place as they were passing to pick up a part for the horse lorry.

I called to pay over the phone and they said just sort it when we collect the lorry.

so we currently have  finished

the wj that i took far to long to finish  though it sounds like it may have fallen victem to cheap after market rear axle seals as one seems to be leaking ......arse :icon_redface: so it may have to return for rectification

we have done

a little more classic tinkering

and hope to finish

a few minor problems

so that the first of two tjs can come in one for locker instal and one for regear the push is on for me as i have to as a dad pull some rabbits out of a hat for crimbo

mr whippy waits for time and funds for a few jobs to get on the road

my as yet unnamed  chevy cucv waits for service and tyres

the merc estate performs well but is a little dull

bollocks arse and arse again gets up early to check embers on bonfire you know rake them all together to finish burning off  then in to garage to finish a tj  and
no power in garage so got to fix that first so now need to trace the problem  always it seems when there is loads to do sothing foils my not so cunning plan but i spose the fact the garage is still powered by the temporary power lead  from thirteen years ago is no help
