Just think if you make your own çhassis and create space for all the bits you have squirrelled away.......

Then in my fantasy world.....bingo there's room for a lazy 496 making a fun 550 horses and torque thingies.......

Oh yes...... :icon_super:

Thanks for all the comments, radius arms aren't the best solution but, they are cheap, and easy to mount.
I reckon the head work involved in building a decent 3 or 4 link would melt my brain.  I'm not shooting for lots of flex, my previous truck had lots of flex and it got me in some sticky situations.
The front suspension is finally done, and is sitting at ride height.

Plan is to get the front wings chopped out and move onto the rear end next weekend. also ordered some seats and harness's

Nice seats.....did you import them?

I am running plastic Whitbread seats with cushions.....still rubs the base of the spine after a weekend of  Offroad

Looked at importing seats but shipping was ridiculous, Also looked at the whitbreads, very practical but , wanted something with a bit more padding. These are from VW Heritage 'Empi race trims', arrived the next day , and got to say very happy with them.

Had a good week welding and grinding, Its amazing where the hours go with projects like this. Results is ,Floor is welded back in, rear suspension in, rear coil-overs and shock hoops done, body back on, didn't take many pictures, but here's a few

Was planning to mount the coil-overs at an angle, keep them inside the rear arches, but that didn't quite happen haha

Thought it test fit the fuel, tank its a mk1-2 escort tank, but looks made for the job!

Like the out of the box thinking with the escort tank.......

Got to do a tank for the 1 Tonne as the small one in it at the moment takes 12 litres .......
Requiring a return to base for a refill a few times over the weekend.

Well havent touched the poor thing since December, been a rather busy year working moving house, etc, etc
Enough making excuses time to get cracking again,
Have decided on a few changes, diesel hilux engine is out the window, too boring. Couldnt stretch to a V8 but, have a fuel injected 4.3 chevy Vortec V6 to go in, and a Jeep CJ 3 speed manual.
Also managed to find another old Warn 8200 which i plan to clean up and put on the rear.

Plan is to order the engine/box adapter, find a manual bellhousing , drop it all in and get it a running and moving under its own power by the end of the summer.
Will post some pictures if any of this actually happens
