Cherokee laner, lift kit and 33's fitted.....
« on: October 11, 2014, 04:30:18 AM »

Work has begun....

Fitted rubicon 3.5" lift kit.... well for the time I'm running 4" on the front whilst I wait for the front end kit to be power coated... which includes, flexi front arms, HD steering bar and extended anti roll bar links... All picked up including newish shocks second hand from this site, thanks guys  :icon_super:

Mansize spring compressor makes light work of fitting big springs, awesome piece of kit...

Front brake pipes extended by moving and welding brkt in lower place (not shown here)...

Sitting well now, feels nice to be climbing into a lifted Cherokee again...

Make mirrors detachable, remove wheel arches, cut arches back and fit retard arches, FSU baby!

Borrowed it from work... snap on, not cheap, £250, (maybe try hire shops?) awesome though made the job a breeze, which is handy as I will be doing it all again when the flexi arms, HD steering bar and 3.5" springs return from power coat  :icon_biggrin: :icon_super:

Haha, well I have owned this XJ for six months... Damage has started, had the option of gentle style on special section, or beat everyone's else time by almost halving it...

No plans for pick up conversion, want to keep it complete for laning trips further away and carrying Indian canoe...

Next up is flexi front arms, banks performance exhaust and manifold swap...

Recently competed in a punch hunt and got first in class.... and more punches than anyone else in all the classes, so very pleased with that, pulled some stuff out of the bag and enjoying being in standard class again...  :icon_super:

Yeah not much strength in the front panel, happened whilst backing down a slippy side ways steep slope that pushed the Jeep down the side of the little tree and the angle was right for it all to happen.... had to lever of the tree and break the headlamp free.... duct tape restored the Jeep though haha....

Sorted out front and back end... fitted decent strong bumber and removed rear bumper, towbar and things, got rid of crapy fiberglass corners at the front...

Another first place yesterday...

Dents continue to be added...

A lot can happen in twelve months...

smashed another rear (side) window... can't think what might happen next....

That's looking good Maf  8-)

Do you still have the towbar you've taken off? I wouldn't mind one on the ZJ and heard they were interchangeable?

Yeah it's coming on nice... you should check out the CLCC events, was down in deepest darkest kernow yesterday...

Sorry... still using the bracket as a recovery point... just removed the towball and extention piece so the departure angle of the Jeep is better.... plus also I can quickly pop the ball back on if I need to tow the canoe on its trailer....

Finally got the LPG sorted, lpg ecu had lost all its parameters, (was asked if it's been struck by lighting lol) now fully working, tuned, even the lpg gauge is working again... Just needed the ecu reprogrammed.

If anyone is in Cornwall needing LPG help, then Chris is the man to see.... LPG Autos Camelford Station, 07989988060
PL32 9TX

Next event on Sunday is down the far end of Kernow, so pleased as now I have range... plus also the cruise started working again, Jeep running better than on petrol, happy days....

Will no doubt pick up some more dents.... hopefully a trophy as well...

Swampers have been on again.....
