How critical actually is this?
« on: July 10, 2017, 11:20:41 PM »

Ok I finally got my cj7 tremec t176 fourspeed box rebuilt, and I now I'm putting back in. Jeep workshop mentions that bell housing to gearbox alignment being critical. I understand  the issue as bellhousing is separate  from box, but there doesn't seem to be much movement available when bolting up. Do I really need to follow dti procedure? thx

i think thats a given statement for any gearbox  but the reality is you cant really get it wrong the bellhousing will be dowelled and in truth there is very little you can get wrong as it wont go together if not lined up
