Vibration from Light in speaker housing
« on: April 24, 2015, 07:50:20 PM »

Getting severe vibration from light lens in the speaker housing...anyone experienced this?? Have had to balance the music to the left hand side at the noise is irritating.

When I press on the lens it stops so it's definitely that that is vibrating.

Anyone any quick and simple solutions???

Turn the music down/off, or remove whatever is vibrating.

you have answered your question, the light lens has become detached. Remove lens and mastic seal it back into place. mastic is pliable and will allow slight movement (damping) from the sound waves

It still feels quite secure tho....dunno if playing the music up loud has maybe caused it to come a wee but loose. Will try get it out and put it back in more securely if possible.

Cheers

I'm ashamed to admit that I've used Blu-tack for this purpose several times in my XJ. I've removed whatever has been rattling and have put a lump of Blu-tack wherever it's making contact. Works perfectly...
