'73 cj6 track lock diff dana 44, what oil?
« on: April 23, 2015, 02:33:00 PM »

Hi all,

Another question about my 1973 CJ6...

What oil should I use in a factory dana 44 with a track lock limited slip diff?
As I understand it, I need a special oil.

Cheers Frank.

Dana 44 - 1.5 qts - Grade SAE 80 gear oil

buy some adative from a jeep dealer or look on fleabay, state side dont have good opinions of the trac lock and refer to them as grenades in a box

Thanks guys, I'm just going to service the axle for now.
I'm planning to upgrade the axles once the jeep is back on the road, but I don't know if I'm going to build up the axles that are on it, or go for something bigger like unimog axles.
